Videosoft joins Inmarsat’s ELEVATE programme

Enterprise

ELEVATE membership will support bespoke communications providers’ global growth across range of industries, including security, rail, agriculture and utilities.

Videosoft, a company that provides adaptive encoding and secure real-time video transmission over wireless networks, today announced it has joined Inmarsat ELEVATE.

As part of the agreement, Inmarsat’s global ELERA (L-band) network will be integrated in Videosoft’s real-time streaming solutions. ELERA is a leading satellite network for the Internet of Things and will enhance Videosoft’s ability to respond to its customers’ needs wherever they may be. It will also allow Videosoft to expand its video solutions into new areas, like railway crossings, and autonomous farm equipment.

ELEVATE is a development programme, ecosystem, and marketplace for providers of software, hardware and solutions, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in commercial land markets. As a member of the ELEVATE programme, Videosoft will expand its customer base and provide even more reliable, tailored video streaming solutions.

Videosoft’s innovative solutions work over satellite and cellular, incorporating a unique ultra-low bandwidth software solution that enables secure video streaming where extremely low bandwidth is available. Pairing with Inmarsat's BGAN satcom service will expand coverage and reduce cost and latency compared to other solutions on the market.

Videosoft’s products can be remotely installed with minimal technical expertise on standard off-the-shelf hardware. They can then record, encode, and transmit live video from the Edge via satellite or cellular networks. This provides worldwide coverage and remote access streaming to unlimited users via phones or computers.

Customers turn to Videosoft to implement remote inspection, real-time surveillance, and equipment management; helping to resolve field issues quickly while improving employees' health and safety. This also means reduced running costs, improved operational control and increased situational awareness. The technology is a gamechanger for businesses with remote operations which had thought it was either too expensive or impossible to benefit from real-time video streaming.

Mike Carter, President of Enterprise at Inmarsat, said: “We look forward to deepening our relationship with Videosoft and working with them to support their ambitious growth plans. Our partnership will help this exciting business at the forefront of ultra-low bandwidth video steaming solutions meet the needs of new and existing clients with an even more personalised, reliable service.

Iain Janes, Business Development Manager of Videosoft, said: “Inmarsat’s ELEVATE has already increased Videosoft’s exposure to companies working in the air, on the land and at sea.

“These clients are looking for an ultra-low bandwidth streaming solution using Inmarsat’s network to enable situational awareness from remote locations around the globe. We are perfectly positioned to deliver for them through ELEVATE. We are also excited to explore future opportunities for collaboration with the broader ELEVATE partnership ecosystem as we continue to bring cutting-edge solutions to market.”

The partnership will help Videosoft expand its offering across several industries, including maritime and enterprise markets, such as security, rail and agriculture. As part of the programme, Videosoft will gain access to Inmarsat’s broader ELEVATE partner ecosystem, creating opportunities to collaborate on additional niche communications solutions.

Companies in locations without reliable connectivity, or those which have mission-critical connectivity needs, use Inmarsat ELEVATE to access a broad selection of satellite-enabled Internet of Things (IoT) solutions developed by a range of providers to enhance efficiency, safety and sustainability.

Inmarsat’s ELEVATE programme is open to new entrants, disruptors, and established brands of any size who have developed an innovative digital product or service; but may need additional support to exploit the benefits of satellite-enabled IoT solutions. Inmarsat provides dedicated technical guidance on how to integrate and support its highly-reliable satellite services, go-to-market strategy planning and exposure to the Inmarsat distribution channel to enable access to new markets.

Providers working across a diverse range of industries, including agriculture, aid and NGOs, energy, exploration and leisure, media, mining, transport, and utilities - as well as agnostic technology providers - will be considered for membership.
