Honeywell to supply Jet ConneX connectivity for Airbus

Honeywell Aerospace has signed a memorandum of understanding with maintenance, repair and overhaul company Haitec Aircraft Maintenance to deliver its JetWave in-flight Wi-Fi hardware for two Airbus ACJ319 aircraft owned and operated by Tyrolean Jet Services.

“We are seeing a lot of interest across our air transport and business aviation customer base in what connectivity can deliver,” said Brett Dutton, Senior Vice President, VIP Maintenance, Haitec.

Important technology

“JetWave represents an important and timely technology that can bring Tyrolean Jet Services’ passengers high-speed global connectivity while in the air.”

Julie de Cevins, Honeywell Aerospace’s Vice President, Business and General Aviation for EMEA, added: “Through our work with Haitec, Tyrolean Jet Services becomes the first business aviation operator to select JetWave and benefit from the revolution in business aircraft connectivity that Inmarsat’s JX service is going to initiate.”

JX will be capable of delivering downlink speeds to the cabin of up to 33Mbps for business aircraft and up to 50 Mbps for air transport aircraft, allowing passengers to videoconference, send and receive large files, and stream high-quality television and movies while in the air.
