ESL sees notable benefits for GX government customers

11 February 2014: Government customers across Europe are set to reap the benefits of Global Xpress now that the European Satellite Link (ESL) Group has been appointed as its Value Added Reseller (VAR).

ESL, a specialised, managed satellite services provider, is one of Europe’s leading integrators of satellite communications for land and maritime users, with a strong focus on the government market.

The company has been offering Inmarsat’s services for more than 20 years and, following a period as an Inmarsat Platinum Service Provider, has recently also been appointed as a full Distribution Partner for our L-band services.

Government focus

Andy Start, President, Inmarsat Global Government Services, said: “ESL has demonstrated clearly through recent expansion and investment its serious intent to grow its government business.

“We are very pleased to welcome ESL as one of the first GX VARs in the government sector and we look forward to working very closely with them as GX goes live later this year.”

Henrik Christensen, CEO of ESL, commented: “We are very proud to be appointed as a GX VAR for the government market in Europe.

Unique offering

“We are confident that Inmarsat GX will be a true game-changer in the MSS industry because of its unique offering of unrivalled mobility, throughput measured in megabits per second, and a set of features developed specifically for the government markets.

“Including Inmarsat GX in our portfolio of unique solutions and value-added services will be a notable benefit for our government customers throughout Europe.”

Global Xpress will be the first globally available Ka-band mobile broadband satellite network, providing very high bandwidth services to a range of land, maritime and aero terminals, delivered through a resilient, secure waveform which is optimised for mobility.
