You can now register your interest in a series of debates Inmarsat is hosting as part of London International Shipping Week.
The annual event, being held from 11-15 September, showcases all that UK businesses have to offer the global maritime market.
As part of LISW17, Inmarsat will host three highly topical debates at our City Road HQ on London’s iconic Silicon Roundabout.
A two-hour breakfast briefing on 12 September will look at ‘The future of maritime safety – The next generation of GMDSS’, including a live demo of Inmarsat’s enhanced SafetyNET II distress reporting service.
Later the same day, from 3-8pm, ‘Digital disruption in shipping – What happens next?’ will explore how new digital technologies and business models are challenging the value proposition of conventional shipping, with contributions from some of the digital pioneers who are revolutionising the shipping industry. This event will be followed by our official LISW reception.
On 13 September, from 1-6pm, ‘Dispelling the myth – The reality of cyber security in the shipping industry’ will see experts and thought leaders call for increased resilience against cyber attack.
The Inmarsat seminars are part of a packed agenda of over 160 industry functions and networking opportunities in London, under the overarching theme of ‘Tomorrow’s Maritime World: UK – the centre of maritime business’. Other events will be held by international shipping and marine trade associations and the UK government.
An estimated 15,000 leaders from all sectors of the international shipping industry are expected to attend LISW17, which includes a day-long conference on 14 September considering the challenges and opportunities ahead, and a gala dinner.
