Rebecca Cowen-Hirsch elected to Space Enterprise Consortium

05 October 2020: Rebecca Cowen-Hirsch, Inmarsat Government Senior Vice President for Government Strategy and Policy, has been elected to the Space Enterprise Consortium’s Executive Committee. Her two-year term began on 1 October.

The Space Enterprise Consortium is a collection of industry leaders, academic research institutions and innovative early-stage and non-traditional companies working together to build partnerships between the commercial industry, the civil space sector and the U.S. government. It strives to increase flexibility and agility, reduce costs, improve technology and capability insertion, and decrease cycles in the development and deployment of next generation space technologies.

“Inmarsat is proud to be a member of the Space Enterprise Consortium and to work with likeminded innovative companies to streamline acquisition processes and strengthen the diversity and resiliency of U.S. space assets,” said Rebecca Cowen-Hirsch.

Critical dialogue

“I am excited and humbled by my selection to the Executive Committee, and look forward to contributing Inmarsat’s voice to the critical, ongoing dialogue regarding acquisition of commercial capabilities, as well as building and solidifying relationships with U.S. Space Force leadership and the DoD Undersecretary for Research and Engineering.“

With more than 30 years of industry experience, Cowen-Hirsch oversees Inmarsat’s strategic direction, policy and advocacy with respect to the U.S. government. Previously, she was a member of the Senior Executive Service in the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) as the Program Executive Officer for SATCOM, Teleport and Services at DISA and several other key executive positions.  Ms Cowen-Hirsch has been with Inmarsat for 12 years.
