Inmarsat appoints new Maritime Partner

Inmarsat has appointed satellite communications and technical services company, Satlink Satellite Communications Ltd, as a Partner for Inmarsat Fleet Xpress and FleetBroadband.

As part of the partnership, Satlink’s solutions will be integrated with Fleet Xpress to deliver value added services, such as Satbox and Tracklite, a service that enhances connectivity to their existing global customer network, which includes merchant shipping, offshore, fishing and leisure markets.

Socrates Theodossiou, joint Managing Director of The Tototheo Group said: “On-board bandwidth requirements keep growing, driving the satellite communications industry to integrate and develop in-house tailor made solutions for end-users.

Strategic alliance

“This strategic alliance with Inmarsat enables a closer relationship and development of our solutions for the industry and ultimately for the global satellite communications market.”

Commenting on the agreement, Gerbrand Schalkwijk, Chief Sales Officer, Inmarsat Maritime said: “Satlink Satellite Communications is a valued Inmarsat Maritime Partner and is currently the largest single XpressLink provider for Inmarsat globally, with customers including MSC Shipmanagement Limited and Columbia Shipmanagement Ltd.
