Global MilSatCom HPA Global Government Payload Exploration Workshop

Rebecca Cowen-Hirsch, Senior Vice President, Government Strategy & Policy for Inmarsat’s U.S. Government Business Unit, led a panel discussion at Global MilSatCom 2017, focused on how innovative commercial business models can help Department of Defense (DoD) agencies address budget challenges and limited satellite communications (SATCOM) access.

The panel took place during the Hosted Payload Alliance’s Global Government Payload Exploration Workshop on 6 November, offered industry perspectives on how the integration of commercial SATCOM into DoD architecture can improve operational flexibility and resilience. It also looked at how it can enhance the industry’s relationship with the government – elevating it to a fully realised partnership which supports seamless connectivity and functionality, allowing users to operate anywhere the mission takes them at any time.

Cowen-Hirsch was joined on the panel by Jeff Rowlinson, Vice President of Government Affairs, SES Government Solutions; Hayley McGuire, Government Space Systems Business Development Manager, Boeing; and Rich Pang, Vice President of Government Segment Market Management, SES.
