20 March 2015: Inmarsat Fleet Media is an innovative new service that is set to bring Hollywood to the high seas with a comprehensive catalogue of international blockbuster films, television programming, as well as sports and news.
Following a ground-breaking agreement with NT Digital Partners – a joint venture between global content agency Spafax and the world’s largest non-theatrical distributor Swank Motion Pictures Inc – Inmarsat Maritime will deliver a comprehensive catalogue of programmes to crew on commercial shipping vessels at sea.
Fleet Media is available to crew over the Inmarsat network for on-demand, offline viewing on the Inmarsat XpressLink service and will soon be available across the wider Inmarsat Maritime portfolio.
Watching films, sports and news on tablets, laptops and smartphones brings much more than simple viewing pleasure. It helps keep seafarers connected to the outside world and their world at home, improving their quality of life while aboard a vessel.
