Inmarsat will be taking part in the inaugural Space-Comm Expo, a new trade exhibition that focuses on the commercialisation of space for business, defence and aerospace.
The event, which takes place over two days at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre, is also one of the satellite industry’s first opportunities to reconnect in person.
Inmarsat CEO, Rajeev Suri will deliver a keynote speech during the panel session ‘Growing the UK space sector for global benefit’ on 8 July at 11:00 BST. The session will delve into how the combined might of the UK - industry, government, academia, finance, defence, transport and more – will enable the UK space industry to contribute all the required ingredients to deliver sustained success and growth.
Exploring the world class secure satellite communications this will provide, the panel, including The Rt Hon Chris Skidmore MP, Member of Parliament for Kingswood, will discuss how alliances will be formed, whilst supporting the UK’s objectives. The concept is to ‘Spread the wealth’ to enable a broader, more sustainable and adaptable sector to grow, while prioritising to the UK’s strengths and meeting the nation’s core needs.
Inmarsat will also be holding a New Space Technology and Innovation roundtable session on 7 July at 15:00 – 16:00 BST in the Navigate Room.
The panel will comprise space industry experts representing the communications, weather and earth observation sectors, as well as government stakeholders to discuss what space technologies they think will provide transformational change over the next five years; areas of greatest interest for customers; the challenges and opportunities when innovating in the space sector and bringing new technology to the market; how can government and industry can better collaborate.
