Meeting the global satcom needs of the U.S. government, military and first responders

In an interview with the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority, Inmarsat Government’s Senior Vice President, Government Strategy & Policy, Rebecca Cowen-Hirsch, discusses how the company supports the U.S. government with fast, reliable, resilient, global satellite communication (SATCOM) capabilities for national security and military users, as well as first responders and public safety officials.

Cowen-Hirsch highlights how the U.S. government has relied on and trusted Inmarsat satellite services since 1979. She explains how Inmarsat’s satellite communications solutions are built with U.S. government mobile users in mind and the company’s consistent focus on innovation, highlighting Global Xpress as the first and only end-to-end commercial Ka-band network from a single operator that delivers worldwide service.

“Global Xpress is bringing the benefits of seamless, consistent, wideband connectivity to U.S. government users anywhere, anytime,” Cowen-Hirsch wrote. “Inmarsat’s SATCOM as a Service capability offers mobile high-throughput connectivity the way government users need it: simple, affordable and operationally available.”
