How Inmarsat satcom helps establish certainty in uncertain times

Government

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has forced all of us to adapt, and the U.S. government is no exception. Telework arrangements are rising sharply, with as many as 4 million Department of Defense (DoD) military and civilian workers working remotely. In what DoD Chief Information Officer Dana Deasy calls a “commercial virtual remote” environment, video, voice and text-enabled collaborative capabilities prove critical. In addition, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has designated satellite operations as an essential part of critical infrastructure during the COVID-19 emergency response. Satellites are providing customers with significant critical communications infrastructure to support a wide variety of essential crisis communications; continuity of operations; remote sensing and other vital services in response to the pandemic.

More than ever before, government users on land, in the air or at sea depend on high-throughput, scalable and globally portable services with assured quality that travels with them and ensures that they can focus on mission-critical operations. These highly mobile users require resilient, flexible, secure commercial SATCOM capabilities that complement government satellite resources, and are trusted anytime, anywhere.

For over 40 years, Inmarsat has connected people across the globe through our reliable and secure networks, and we remain committed to delivering this connectivity during this crisis and beyond. As an infrastructure company offering assured SATCOM to military, first responders and other government customers, our services are resilient even during unprecedented times of disruption.
