Inmarsat C has been helping to save lives at sea worldwide since 1999, with guaranteed reliability and built to last. As the first IMO-approved service for GMDSS and SSAS, it enables near real-time distress and safety communications, transmitting critical messages such as emails, SMS, and weather updates between ships and shore-based stations, safeguarding lives and vessels in the face of maritime hazards.

 

Inmarsat C fulfills all the functions of GMDSS and meets the performance standards of the IMO wheelmark for all administrations.

Your lifeline in distress

When your safety is compromised and there’s no time to send a distress message, press the dedicated distress button for 5 seconds to instantly alert one of the Inmarsat associated Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC). Your position and distress details are automatically transmitted with the alert.

Enhanced Group Calls

Reduce the risk of sailing into dangerous waters by staying informed of the latest maritime navigational data, weather reports and search and rescue related information.

 

Receive Enhanced Group Calls broadcast from shore-side SafetyNET, SafetyNETII and RescueNET services for all IMO EGC Certificate holders. Easily access essential navigational and weather warnings, forecasts and other urgent safety information. Don’t compromise the safety of your crew and vessels; make data-based decisions and always ensure you can sail with confidence.

Comply with remote monitoring and tracking

Comply with the IMO requirement for Long Range Identification and Tracking (LRIT) and meet regulatory compliance for vessel monitoring and polling.
