Since its inception in 1979, Inmarsat Maritime has been committed to keeping you connected anywhere, anytime, without compromise.
Originally set up by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to develop a satellite communications network for protecting lives at sea, we were the first satellite operator to meet the stringent requirements of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) when introduced in 1999.

We are closely monitored and overseen by the International Mobile Satellite Organization (IMSO) to ensure compliance with the requirements set by the IMO because nothing is more important than protecting lives.
