8 December 2015: Inmarsat (LSE:ISAT.L) has signed an agreement with NSSLGlobal, appointing the award winning independent service provider of satellite communications and IT as a Global Xpress (GX) Value Added Reseller (VAR) for enterprise customers.

Already appointed as a GX VAR for the Maritime and Government markets, NSSLGlobal will now also be offering GX services to its customers in media, mining, oil and gas and multinationals.

Rash Jhanjee, Head of GX Business Development and Strategy, Inmarsat Enterprise said: “We are thrilled to be signing this contract with NSSLGlobal, a well-known leader at deploying satellite communications solutions across a broad range of enterprise customers. This appointment further demonstrates that our innovative global Ka-band network, Global Xpress, is attracting leading operators from across the industry.”

With three Global Xpress satellites successfully launched and global commercial service on track for the end of the year, NSSLGlobal will be able to bring Global Xpress services to enterprise customers around the globe.

“We are excited to have been appointed as a Global Xpress VAR for Inmarsat Enterprise as it further strengthens our long-standing and strong partnership”, said Nikolaj Hvegholm, Group Commercial & Marketing Officer at NSSLGlobal. “Providing secure and reliable communications has always been at the core of NSSLGlobal’s business and with the continuously increasing bandwidth demands of our end-users, alongside the requirement for quick mobility, a seamless global coverage and the highest service availability, Global Xpress will be a significant development for our enterprise customers globally.”

Global Xpress is the world’s first globally available commercial Ka-band mobile broadband satellite network from a single operator, representing a new era in mobile satellite communications. Global Xpress will provide very high bandwidth services to end-users around the world on land, at sea and in the air. Global Xpress complements Inmarsat’s reliable L-band network which customers have depended on for decades.
