Additional NED appointed to Inmarsat Board General C. Robert Kehler (Rtd) to join in May 2014

20 March 2014 – Inmarsat (LSE:ISAT.L), the leading provider of global mobile satellite communications services, today announced that General C. Robert Kehler, United States Air Force (Retired) will join the Board on 6 May 2014 as an additional non-executive director.

General Kehler retired from the Air Force in January 2014 with over 38 years of service.  Prior to his retirement, General Kehler served as Commander, U.S. Strategic Command from January 2011 to November 2013.   In that position he was directly responsible to the President and Secretary of Defense for the plans and operations of all U.S. forces conducting strategic deterrence, and Department of Defense space and cyberspace operations.  Prior to that assignment, he served as Commander, Air Force Space Command from October 2007 to January 2011.  As commander of Air Force Space Command, General Kehler was responsible for the development, acquisition and operation of the Air Force’s space and missile systems.  He oversaw a global network of satellite command and control, communications, missile warning and launch facilities, and ensured the combat readiness of America’s intercontinental ballistic missile force.  Over his career, General Kehler served in a variety of important operational and staff assignments, and successfully led large organizations with global responsibilities

General Kehler will also become a member of the Remuneration Committee.
