Inmarsat Developer Conference to showcase open technologies

Inmarsat is inviting developers to find out more about the open technologies available to build products that work seamlessly with its satellite networks.

The Inmarsat Developer Conference on 22-22 January 2015 will bring together software, hardware and application developers together with Inmarsat experts, as well as representatives of companies already using satellite technology in innovative ways.

The three-day event at Inmarsat’s 99 City Road, London headquarters will also focus on the markets across its  Maritime, Enterprise, Aviation and Government business units that provide the biggest growth opportunities, helping developers decide where best to use Inmarsat’s open technologies.

Connected Future

Delegates will learn how to become an Inmarsat developer through the Certified Application Provider programme, see APIs in action, and hear from keynote speaker Ian Kennedy from Cisco about the connected future.

David Schoen, Inmarsat Vice President, Product and Service Development, explained: “Instead of telling our developer partners what their customers want and trying to apply ‘one size fits all’ solutions into a segmented market, we are recognising that they are closer to the end-user and therefore best-placed to tell us what they want.

“We are committed to providing technology building blocks, including core modules and platforms that empower a broader community of developers to work with us in new and innovative ways.

“This new event aims to explain the power tools that we will put in a developer’s hands to create compelling products and services. As we expand our development toolkit we look forward to welcoming new partners into our community.”
