More information has been collected about the oceans in the past few years than in the whole of human history. An explosion of data sources – from weather systems to ship movements and supply chains – and the quality and quantity of data available have the potential to fundamentally change the way we understand and preserve the oceans and the maritime ecosystem.
The inaugural Sea: The Future conference will look at how technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) can help us interact with the maritime domain in a more efficient, profitable, and sustainable way.
The one day event at Trinity House in central London will bring together senior decision-makers from the worlds of shipping, government, insurance, data and risk management. Inmarsat Maritime Director, Business Development Alberto Perez will speak on the rising tide of digitalisation in the maritime industry and the impact of the Internet of Things and big data solutions on sustainability, such as Fleet Data, our IoT platform for shipping.
