Aircraft Interiors Middle East 2020

Inmarsat Aviation will be presenting at Aircraft Interiors Middle East 2020 which brings together leading airlines and industry to the region to discover the latest advancements in passenger entertainment, safety and comfort.

During the two-day show at the Dubai World Trade Centre, a series of inflight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) seminars will cover topics ranging from communication, satellites, digitisation and cyber security.

On the first day of the show, Neale Faulkner, Regional Vice President MEASA, Inmarsat Aviation will pose the question: The next generation of always on passengers. Threat or opportunity?

Digital generation

During his presentation at 12:15 GST, Neale will highlight the demand of the new digital generation and the expectation of Gen Z to seamlessly migrate their connected lifestyles from the ground to the air. How well airlines respond to their needs will, more than anything else, determine success over the next decade and while connectivity will play a critical role, to unlock the true commercial potential of connectivity, the industry will have to adopt a digital-retail mind-set and collaborate with operators, partners and the airline community.

Following on at 12:45, Inmarsat Aviation Market Development Director Rahul Behal will join the panel IFEC Technology & Innovation in Passenger Experience alongside Oman Air, Saudia and Inmarsat Partner SITAONAIR to discuss:

  • What is the latest in IFE technology and innovation?
  • How are airlines enhancing passenger experience?
  • How airlines to airlines want to work with product and technology providers to give passengers better experiences?
  • Providing possible solutions to the challenges in handling the additional capacity needed to show Ultra-Hi definition video and audio content on flights
  • How are airlines meeting the needs of families, young travellers, millennials and Gen-Z’s?

Rahul will showcase how our multi-award-winning GX Aviation service is delivering a gold-standard inflight Wi-Fi service for passengers worldwide to seamlessly browse the internet, stream videos, check social media and more.

In addition, he will present findings from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)’s “Sky High Economics” report which found that there is an immediate $33 billion market share available for airlines developing the digital inflight experience. It also highlights how Gen Z will become the largest group of airline flyers by the end of the 2030s, bringing with them new expectations of technology and travel.

On day two at 11:00, Inmarsat Aviation Technical Sales Manager Steney John will be speaking on The power of the next generation of satellites, looking at how Inmarsat is realising the next step in aviation connectivity and revolutionising inflight capabilities.
