The Future of Maritime Safety

Maritime

Webinar

Inmarsat Senior Vice President, Yachting, Passenger and Safety, Peter Broadhurst, will reveal exclusive findings from Inmarsat’s The Future of Maritime Safety report prior to its launch, at Riviera Maritime Media’s webinar on 2 June 2021.

The world exclusive will provide results from a three-year study of Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) vessel distress alert data. During his presentation, Peter will also link the data to a bold new vision for a transformation of GMDSS safety services at sea, where algorithms and Artificial Intelligence anticipate and trigger early distress warnings for enhanced protection and safety of crew on SOLAS and non-SOLAS vessels.

The Future of Maritime Safety report also carries industry opinion from the International Maritime Organization (IMO), International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), BIMCO, InterManager, and UK P&I Club, which all detail how greater industry collaboration and the use of new technologies can be used to proactively safeguard life at sea by accurately monitoring and preventing future incidents.
