BGAN X–Stream is Inmarsat's premium IP streaming service. It guarantees streaming data rates from a minimum of 384kbps up to approximately 450kbps, on demand. These are the fastest on-demand streaming rates in the world of mobile satellite communications.

Using a single, highly compact, lightweight BGAN terminal, you can deliver even higher quality video back to the studio when broadcasting remotely, wherever you are. There is no need for an external antenna or any additional hardware – just use your existing Hughes HNS 9201 or Thrane " Thrane EXPLORER™ 700 terminal.

The film, from which these video clips were taken, was shot and recorded on 17 March 2010. The uplink for the live broadcast was in Cape Town, South Africa and the downlink was in London. The live video was transmitted using BGAN IP streaming at 176kbps and BGAN X–Stream.

For the purposes of showing them on our website, the files have been compressed. Therefore the quality of the clips and the BGAN IP streaming video in the clips may be adversely affected.
