Fire and Rescue International - Chicago, US

  • Largest fire and rescue seminar in North America
  • 24-28 August

Inmarsat's government services team will be exhibiting at Fire and Rescue International (FRI), which attracts 14,000 visitors over two days for symposiums, seminars and an expo of 600 providers.

Alongside Inmarsat at the expo stand will be Stratos, Segovia and 409 Systems. This is an ideal opportunity for fire and rescue professionals to meet with the Inmarsat team and be shown leading edge services and solutions including the new IsatPhone Pro global handheld.

The expo is open to visitors on 27-28 August during FRI 2010.

Leading international shipbuilding event

  • SMM - Hamburg, Germany
  • 7-10 September

The SMM is the leading international trade fair for the maritime and shipbuilding industry - and will attract more than 50,000 trade visitors.

Inmarsat will be at the biennial event to relay information about the morale-boosting qualities of FleetBroadband communications, including the new Enhanced Super Quiet Time service - exclusive to FleetBroadband - which enables crew members to call home at low rates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The maritime team will be exhibiting at Hamburg Messe alongside partners Stratos and Satlink Spain and demonstrating applications such as AmosConnect Crew.

Premier global electronic media industry event

  • IBC - Amsterdam, The Netherlands
  • 10-14 September

Inmarsat will be giving live demonstrations of its range of BGAN streaming rates, including the new 176 kbps service and BGAN X-Stream, at IBC 2010.

IBC attracts over 45,000 professionals involved in the creation, management and delivery of entertainment and news content worldwide.

Inmarsat will be on stand B45 in Hall 5 at the RAI Centre in Amsterdam showing how broadcasters of all sizes can benefit from BGAN services for filing reports from the field.

Also showcased will be the IsatPhone Pro global handheld.

Flagship event for in-flight entertainment industry

Inmarsat will be exhibiting at the World Airline Entertainment Association (WAEA) annual conference to promote and explain the role of SwiftBroadband as a way to provide cost efficient in-flight connectivity at the world's largest exhibition of in-flight entertainment and communications.

The event features cutting-edge technological innovations, educational workshops and networking opportunities for WAEA members.

WAEA takes place at the Long Beach convention and entertainment centre, California.

Humanitarian & Disaster Response Technologies

Inmarsat is a strategic sponsor of the Humanitarian and Disaster Response Technologies conference and exhibition in South Africa on 16-17 September.

Organised by Tangent Link, the two-day event will focus on civil and military preparedness, response, security, technology and risk management in humanitarian and disaster scenarios in Africa, drawing on the expertise of many global organisations.

The Inmarsat government services team will have a high profile presence at the exhibition. Inmarsat will also give a short presentation during the conference.

The event takes place at the Lagoon Beach Hotel, Cape Town.

Maritime information technology conference and exhibition

  • Digital Ship USA - Stamford, Connecticut
  • 22-23 September

Digital Ship USA, sponsored by Inmarsat, is the premier event for maritime IT, satcom, technical, electronics and navigation managers who want to see the latest developments in satellite communications, software or electronic charts technology for shipping - with reports direct from the people who use it.

Delegates at the Italian Center of Stamford will, for example, hear about shipping companies' experience of utilising FleetBroadband.

In addition, Inmarsat director of business development, Frank August, will speak about FleetBroadband services in the Americas, and head of safety services, Peter Blackhurst, will look at Inmarsat's provision of safety services in the future.

There will also be opportunities for training on FleetBroadband, and Inmarsat partners will be demonstrating maritime applications in the exhibition area.

The world's most prestigious luxury yacht event

  • Monaco Yacht Show - Principality of Monaco
  • 22-25 September

The Monaco Yacht Show is the maritime world's most prestigious gathering of large ships, presenting a selection of 100 exceptional super and mega-yachts from 25 metres (82 ft) to over 90 metres (295 ft) long.

The event will also showcase around 40 high-spec 45-metre (147 ft) motor and sailing-yachts built in 2010.

Shipyards, brokers, designers and equipment manufacturers serving the luxury yachting sector will be at Port Hercules in the Principality of Monaco for the 20th annual show.

Inmarsat's maritime team will be there demonstrating how FleetBroadband can keep superyacht owners in touch with the business world through global voice and data connectivity and also provide real-time forecasting applications or chart where the best fishing action is.

Education and networking for law enforcement executives

The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) annual conference has a reputation for providing top-notch education on the most pressing law enforcement topics.

The conference at the Orange County conference centre in Orlando, Florida, offers renowned keynote speakers, forums and technical workshops.

There is also the largest exhibition of products and services for the law enforcement community - with more than 700 exhibitors including Inmarsat. The government services team will be attending from 24-26 October to showcase products including BGAN and Inmarsat's first global handheld satellite phone IsatPhone Pro.

Aerial Emergency Response conference

Humanitarian and environmental disasters across the globe prompt a massive response from the international community to deliver aid and assistance - with air support playing a pivotal role.

The Inmarsat-sponsored Aerial Emergency Response conference in Kuala Lumpur on 27-28 October, organised by Tangent Link, will bring together rotary and fixed wing operators, manufacturers and equipment suppliers which specialise in providing the frameworks to deal with civil emergencies.

Conference themes will focus on how military, public and private organisations can best support governments and local populations.
