Inmarsat appoints Janice Obuchowski as non-executive director

05-05-2009 - Inmarsat has appointed Mrs Janice Obuchowski as an additional non-executive director to its board, to take effect from 5th May 2009. She will also be a member of the Audit Committee.

Janice has held several senior positions, both in the United States government and in the private sector.  Janice served as Head of Delegation and as the US Ambassador to the World Radiocommunications Conference 2003 and was Assistant Secretary for Communications and Information at the Department of Commerce leading the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) under President George H W Bush.  Earlier in her career she held several positions at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), including Senior Advisor to the Chairman.

Janice is President and founder of Freedom Technologies, Inc.  She is currently on public company boards of Orbital Sciences Corporation and CSG Systems, Inc where she has responsibility for chairing committees for both those companies.  Other public company experience has been with Qualcomm and Stratos Global Corporation.
